Atani Community in Ogbaru local government area on Saturday hosted two of its illustrious sons, Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze and the Commissioner For Information Sir. Paul Nwosu in a homecoming ceremony.

the event which was held at the central school Atani, attracted Anambra Assembly lawmakers, Traditional Rulers, President Generals, Commerssioners, Transition Committee Chairmen, Religious Leaders, Political Appointees amongst others
In his speech, Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze appreciated ndi Atani and Ogbaru two constituency for their support all through his political journey.
According to Rt Hon. Udeze “Since i started politics, this is the first time this is happening. From 2015 till date, i have been receiving support each time i call on you all. Am grateful and i promise not to disappoint you all.
“Atani is a peaceful community and we are blessed because this community has produced great men and women.
“I appreciate Governor Chukwuma Soludo for remembering ndi Ogbaru through the various projects currently ongoing. He awarded 15.2 kilometres roads in Okpoko and also constructing a general hospital. We are indeed thankful.
“Very soon, all the primary health centers in Ogbaru will be renovated. The Speaker assured.
Anambra Information Commissioner Sir. Paul Nwosu in his address appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for finding him worthy to be part of his working team.
Sir. Nwosu said the only way of showing appreciation to Soludo for his works in Ogbaru is to vote him again for second tenure.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by the Secretary to the State Goveenment (SSG) Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu in his remark said RT. Hon Udeze and Sir Nwosu are politicians who have distinguished themselves through rendering selfless service to Anambra state.
The Governor urged ndi Ogbaru to support the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the next coming election so as to achieve the agenda of his administration.
His Royal Highness Igwe Augustine Azuka Ngoddy (Eze Ogwuike 2 of Atani) hailed the Speaker and the Commissioner For Information for being good ambassadors of the community.
Igwe Ngoddy prayed for the duo, predicting a brighter future for them stating that their expliots will pave way for more persons from Atani Community.
President General of Atani Community Comrade Arinzechukwu Vincent Nzeli in his speech reminded the youths that their is value in hardwork and that the Speaker and the Commissioner For Information did not get to their present position through luck but by dedication, personal effort and strong indomitable spirit of ndi Atani, urging them (youths) to emulate the duo.
“It is our expectation that Udeze and Nwosu would use their position to promote peace, harmony and the development of Atani and Ogaru in general.
” We call on both of them to help in job and business opportunities for our people as well as attract the much needed infrastructural development such as constant electricity, pipe borne water, security, street light, a befitting townhall and internal feeder roads. It is our expectations that you will help us achieve some, if not all of this basic needs”. Nzeli submitted.
Chairman planning committee, Comrade Casmir Izukanne in his address thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for finding two illustrious sons of Atani worthy to serve in his administration.
Izukanne appreciated the commitment of
Udeze and Nwosu to the growth and development of Anambra State in general.
Keynote Speaker, Professor Ikenna Alumona in his presentation spoke on the roles youths have to play in the betterment of the society.
Prof. Alumona, a Professor of Political science who spoke on “The youths and political development in Atani” highlighted the roles young minds need to play on community development.
Alumona listed the challenges confronting the youths stating that they are summountable if they set their priorities right.
“If this two individuals we are celebrating today had not worked hard, we will not be honouring them. Our youths needs to emulate their dedication and commitment.
The event featured foundation stone laying for the multi million naira Garri and Other Agricultural Processing Mill which the Speaker promised to build for the Atani and Ogbaru people.
