Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg To Donate M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers with Remote-controlled Weapon Systems to AFU

Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg continue to help Ukraine by announcing new military aid packages.

The Benelux countries will transfer M113 tracked armoured personnel carriers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They plan to purchase them from the industry, repair them and then send them to the front.

All combat vehicles will be equipped with a remote-controlled weapon system, as well as a machine gun of 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm calibre. In addition to the M113, Ukraine will also receive a package of spare parts for maintenance and repair of the vehicles.

The number of vehicles and terms of deliveries are not named by the Benelux countries. It is only known that the armament will be transferred to the AFU in the coming months.

M113 is a tracked armoured personnel carrier, which is in service with the mechanized forces of the U.S. Army and other armies of the world. It was developed between 1957 and 1959 by the British company BAE Systems. In total, there are about 80,000 such vehicles in the world. The APC has many modifications. Ukraine has already received hundreds of such APCs from its partners.
