Binance CEO Raises Alarm Over Staff Abduction, Calls for U.S. Response to Nigeria Crisis

Binance’s Chief Executive has called for decisive U.S. intervention following a claim that one of the cryptocurrency firm’s Nigerian staff was abducted and detained for several months by Nigerian authorities.

In a statement circulated on social media and reported by Eagle Eyes Report, the CEO urged  President Donald Trump to consider launching a military response, citing what he described as “a genocidal campaign” against Nigerian Christians.

The executive claimed government complicity in the alleged abduction, and demanded the safe release of the employee.

“We demand immediate U.S. intervention — this is not just a corporate case, it speaks to religious freedom and human rights,” he said, according to the report.

The Nigerian government has not publicly acknowledged the abduction allegations, and no credible local media outlets or official sources have corroborated the incident at the time of writing.

Binance has previously clashed with Nigerian authorities. In 2024, two executives, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, were detained on charges including money laundering and tax evasion. Anjarwalla later escaped custody, while Gambaryan was eventually released after months in detention.

The new claims, if verified, could escalate tensions between Binance, the U.S. government, and Nigerian security agencies, drawing the company deeper into geopolitical and religious conflict narratives.

ANN is monitoring developments and will update if official statements or further evidence emerges.
