The Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, ordained eight Catholic priests on Saturday July 20th 2024
The newly ordained priests are; Paul Akabogu, Elias Obikwelu, Victor Ejie, Damian Chibueze, Anthony Okoyeatu, Paschal Omaha, Lawrence Akwuba, and Kingsley Igboanugo
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the new priests who underwent various stages of ordination took the oaths of poverty, chastity and obedience to God and Bishop Ezeokafor.
In a homily, Bishop Ezeokafor described priesthood as a special vocation meant for those who are prepared to serve God and humanity.
The Catholic Bishop charged the priests to keep the vows they made before God and church by living the life of chastity, poverty and obedience to the word of God and the teachings of the church.
The Prelate thanked God for the lives of the new priests who chose God’s work over worldly possessions and enjoined the church to always support their calls through prayers for them to excel in their vocation.
