Right Reverend Moses Nwakanma, the Bishop, Methodist Church Nigeria, Awka Diocese has administer the sacrament of confirmation to eighty candidates.
Bishop Nwakanma stated this at the Cathedral Church Of Holy Trinity Amenyi, Awka during a service to mark the conclusion of his episcopal tour to all the circuits in Awka Diocese.
Nwakanma who spoke on the theme ‘Rivers of living waters’, stressed the need for every Christian to fight the fight of faith and salvation so as not to be found wanting on the last day.
He noted that these are the last days and a period of distress where some people dwell in sinful nature to excel in life while many work against the passions of Christ, seeking for wealth and fame.
Bishop Nwakanma, therefore, reminded them that they should remember that Christ is the living water and should draw nearer so as not to be thirsty or lose their souls to the devil
The Prelate encouraged the church not to lose hope when the storms of live steers them on face but rather to embrace the words of God, live by it and allow it to direct their paths.
He asked them to ensure they come to God and seek his face while he may be found as time shall come when they will call on him and will not find not.
He charged the newly confirmed to hold unto their faith, abide by the tenets and precepts of the church, make the words of God their watch word and always draw nearer to him with prayers and they will see how they will excel in life.
