Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano has forwarded the name of Mustafa Rabiu Kwankwaso and three others to the State Assembly for confirmation as commissioners in the newly created ministries in the state.
Mustafa Rabiu Kwankwaso is the eldest son of Mr Yusuf’s political god-father and former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The three other commissioner-nominees for the newly created ministries are Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Abdujjabbar Umar Garko, Shehu Sule Aliyu Karaye.
Recall that the governor had requested the approval of the Assembly for the creation of four ministries for effective governance.
The ministries, according to the Speaker of the Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, who read the governor’s letter during Tuesday’s plenary, are: Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Eradication; Solid Minerals; Power and Renewable Energy; and Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services.
Meanwhile, the governor has transmitted another letter to the Assembly, seeking confirmation of chairman and members of the Kano State House Assembly Commission.

Reading the governor’s letter during Tuesday’s plenary, the speaker said the nomination was as a result of dissolution of previous leaders by the house last Monday and requesting for his replacement with new nominee.
According to him, the governor nominated Rt. Hon. Gambo Sallau as chairman of the commission.
While members of the commission are Zubairu Mamuda, Al’asan Kibiya, Ali Bala Kumbotso and Halima Uba-Jalli.
Others are Surajo Harisu Danbatta, Yahaya Adamu Rogo, Abubakar Usman Ibrahim Dala and Garba Ibrahim Tsanyawa.
