Top American singer and 32 times Grammy winner, Beyoncé Knowles, and British actor and singer, Harry Styles, have been tipped for top prizes at the 2023 Brit Awards.
The show, which has been criticised because no woman was nominated for best artist would be hosted by British comedian, Mo Gilligan, on Saturday evening.
According to AFP, Beyoncé, who is not expected to attend in person, is predicted to win the international artist of the year category with Styles being the favourite to win British album of they year for ‘Harry’s House’.
Speaking about the lack of female representation, the Brit Awards chairman, Damian Christian, said it was “disappointing to see the lack of female representation”, blaming a lack of eligible 2022 releases by big female stars.
Other shortlisted artists for best artist of the year at the 2023 Brit Awards are Stormzy, Central Cee, Fred Again and George Ezra.
The Brit Awards ceremony was first held in 1977.
