paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Mr. Chris Molokwu, in his office in Awka, revealed that their mission is to play a vibrant role in ensuring a free, fair and credible governorship election.
Exchanging views with Mr. Molokwu and his management, Dr. Montgomery said that he is delighted to be in Anambra, and that they have strong interest in understanding the due process that would be followed during the election by knowing the various agencies that will play roles in the election such as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Police, Civil Society Monitors, among others.
The High Commissioner to Nigeria, noted that they are not partisan as they believe that democracy is very important in Nigeria, saying that the state has a long standing tradition of holding vibrant political debates during an election, and that they want to see the same democratic process upheld during this election, urging Anambra electorates to vote wisely during the election.
Welcoming his guests, Mr. Molokwu noted that the state is known for its hospitality and has a Governor that is highly innovative and accommodative, and has made the forthcoming Anambra governorship election very easy for all political parties by creating a conductive atmosphere and a level playing ground for all.
The ABS Managing Director further stated that Anambra is dominated by the All Progressives Grand Alliance; having governed the state for about two decades now, and prayed for a peaceful and credible election, while urging INEC to do their job without fear or favour.
