Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known in the ring as Pac and formerly as Neville, has died at the age of 40, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced on Sunday.
The promotion confirmed the death of the British star but did not disclose the cause or circumstances.
Satterley, who was from Newcastle upon Tyne in England, had competed for more than 20 years. His final appearance came at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago on Saturday, where he challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship but was unsuccessful.
AEW described Satterley as a highly gifted performer whose athleticism and high-flying style made him a standout in the industry. The promotion noted that he joined AEW in 2019 and captured the All-Atlantic Championship as well as the World Trios Championship on two occasions.
Before joining AEW, Satterley rose to prominence in WWE under the name Neville. There he became a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion and also held the NXT Championship.
Known for his aerial manoeuvres, Satterley earned the nickname “The Man That Gravity Forgot.” One of his signature moves was the corkscrew shooting star press.
AEW extended its condolences to Satterley’s family, friends and fans worldwide following the announcement.
