Legendary Nigerian singer 2Baba has revealed that Burna Boy stands out as his top choice among the new generation of Nigerian music stars.
Speaking in a recent interview with Urban Radio Enugu, which was shared on Instagram on Saturday, the music icon explained that while there are many talented acts in the industry today, Burna Boy remains his personal number one.
2Baba acknowledged that several artists are making waves with both commercial sounds and raw talent, mentioning names such as Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Asake, Omah Lay, Rema, and Adekunle Gold. However, he emphasized that Burna Boy holds a unique position among them.
In his words: “I’m going to avoid that question. We have ones that have the talents but they decided to just do the commercial thing, and we have the ones that have the raw talents and they’re doing it like that—and all of these people are at the top. For instance, we have Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Asake, Omah Lay, Rema, Adekunle Gold… My problem is the list keeps going on and on. It’s a long list.
“I’m going to tell you that for me, on a personal level, Burna Boy is my number one. I like how the others carry themselves. But in terms of me as an artiste, Burna Boy is the number one right now. Among all others, he’s the senior among the people I’m referring to. There are still others that are coming behind him.”
