Nigerian music star Burna Boy has issued a string of strongly worded messages on Instagram, lamenting what he described as a growing campaign of misinformation and hostility against him.
In a series of posts reviewed by Angel Network News (ANN), the Grammy-winning singer said he had “come to terms with” what he called an “agenda” against him, stressing that he no longer feels affected by online attacks.
“My skin is bulletproof at this point,” he wrote, adding that he had not planned to “address this” but felt compelled to speak after criticism over a recent incident.
Burna Boy used several analogies to defend his frustrations with disruptive fans, saying: “If you make the pilot uncomfortable in a plane you bought a ticket for, you will be deboarded or arrested… you will be kicked out of class if you make it uncomfortable for the teacher to do his job.”
He explained that his shows often attract people “who have beaten cancer or overcome something very serious” and that none of them behave inappropriately.
“I leave my soul on every stage I get on even if it’s only 10 people in attendance,” he said. “I will gladly be cancelled if we are now in a world where you can treat me like a stripper… because you throw $100 at me.”
In a follow-up post, he said he had been “joking around” with his band before the matter was misrepresented online.
“Y’all have spun it as usual saying ‘Burna Boy doesn’t love his fans’,” he wrote. “If you hate me so much either kill me or leave me alone. I’m fighting my own battles… I never come out here to look for pity or help.”
He added: “I love who loves me and respect who respects me. Free Sudan, Free Congo, Free Nigeria.”
The artist later issued a guarded apology, saying: “I sincerely apologise if I’m wrong. I’m not always right but I feel right about this. Anyway I’m just human.”
In another slide, he criticised what he described as selective outrage.
“They never post any of the good I do in this world but they go wild and viral when they feel I’ve finally ‘messed up’,” he wrote. “People who NEVER even acknowledged my existence before now posting how ‘This is not cool’ or writing think pieces on me.”
He ended with a religious exclamation: “Astagfirullah.”

Reacting to a video of Burna Boy removing the sleeping couple from his concert, rapper Eminem commented, “Yo, this is not cool.”
The global icon’s comment reflects the broad public disapproval of the event, which has become the latest controversy surrounding Burna Boy, an artist who has a history of being in the news for the wrong reasons.
Sleeping Lady Suffered a Huge Loss
According to a user on social media platform X, the sleeping fan at Burna Boy’s concert had recently lost the father of her daughter.

The concert was reportedly meant to be a way for her to temporarily distract herself from the distressing situation. This revelation has further angered fans over how the musician handled the situation and publicly embarrassed a fan who had paid for premium tickets to see him.
