His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Arinze paid a visit to permanent site of Shanahan University Onitsha, Anambra State.
His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Arinze after inspection, expressed interest and prayed for the progress of work and asked God to touch the hearts of rich men so that they could donate money for the complition of the University.
”Oh! Lord, we beg you for the seck of young people in our country today and tomorrow that they may be able to grow in wisdom and grace that our society may better be informed not only in intellectually but also their human approach to lives and people.
We beg lord, that you bless the efforts of Shanahan University, just beginning to guide the planning, donate, give us rich people who can donate from their riches, give us the poor who can donate from activities or from the little they have, more importantly the will of the people to wish it well and want it to succeed.
Also, government on their part, should give it necessary permission that the institution may take off to your great glory in commemoration of Bishop Shanahan who is our father in faith in this part of Nigeria, be with us always” Cardinal Arinze prayed !
Former Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese now Cardinal, went to the University Site in the company of His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, Chancellor of Onitsha Archdiocese, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Prudentus Emeka Aroh, Rev. Fr. George Admike Press Secretary of Archbishop Okeke, Rev. Fr. Kevin Chukwuka Secretary of Archbishop Okeke Amongst other Priests.
Archbishop Okeke who took Cardinal Arinze round the University Site carefully explained all the structures and faculty blocks and as well meticulously responded to questions from His Eminence. Some of the faculty blocks Archbishop mentioned includes; Law, Social sciences, Management amongst others.
