Chocolate City Accuses Rapper Odumodublvck of Backstage Assault

Prominent Nigerian record label Chocolate City has accused chart-topping rapper Odumodublvck of physically assaulting a staff member during the Rhythm Unplugged concert in Lagos, marking a violent turn in a long-standing industry feud.

In a detailed statement released Tuesday, the label alleged that the rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, attacked staff member Feyi Ajayi in the backstage area of the event on Monday night. The incident has reportedly left the victim hospitalized.

“What began as a rap beef… has devolved into a sustained campaign of harassment, stalking and physical violence that now endangers our entire team,” Chocolate City said in its formal press release.

According to the label, Odumodublvck approached Mr. Ajayi, issued threats against Chocolate City’s leadership, and “headbutted him without provocation.” Witnesses further alleged that the rapper’s associates poured drinks on the injured staff member while shouting expletives.

The altercation is the latest escalation in a bitter dispute between Odumodublvck and Chocolate City artist Blaqbonez. While “rap beefs” are a traditional fixture of hip-hop culture, the label insists the rapper’s conduct has crossed a legal and ethical line.

The label detailed a series of alleged prior confrontations dating back to 2024, including incidents in England and various Nigerian cities. They also claimed the rapper has sent over 100 threatening messages to their staff and their families.

”We will not stand by while the safety and well-being of our dedicated team members are compromised,” the statement added.

The incident follows a criminal summons issued by an Abuja court in November, which ordered Odumodublvck to answer charges of criminal intimidation filed by Chocolate City executive Osagie Onobun.

At the time of reporting, representatives for Odumodublvck have not issued a formal response to the latest allegations of physical assault.
