All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Sir. Paul Chukwuma has called on academics to bridge the gap between research and the industry.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
Chukwuma, who is the Pro-Chancellor, Olivia University, Bujumbura, Burundi, while speaking at a hybrid conference organised by Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, said the university sector should lead the process of linking research with the industry in order to bring sustainable development in Nigeria.
Sir. Chukwuma while speaking at the event held at Unizik ASUU Secretariat with the theme ‘Governance and Sustainable Development in Africa: Issues and Strategic Options’ charged academics to become more innovative by linking research to the industry. He, however, urged the administration of the institution to tap the generous skills found in the institution.
He also stated that Africa cannot develop without looking inwards. He consequently urged academics can play huge roles in this regard.
