…Father’s should leave legacies of deep spiritual foundation and catholic up-bringing in the family – Archbishop of Onitsha
Catholic Men Organization (CMO) Onitsha Archdiocese on Friday 9th December 2022
marked it’s 40th anniversary, archbishop’s medal award and five hundred million library project fund raise ceremony at the St basilica square.
His Grace Rt. Rev. Dr. Valerie Maduka Okeke, the Archbishop of Onitsha Catholic Diocese in his sermon described CMO members as pillers of the church and also head of the family. He urged father’s to be good role models and mentors to their children. He called on them leave legacies of deep spiritual foundation and catholic up-bringing and tradition to the family.Â
President General catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha CMO Hon. Sir, Evarist Uba (KSJI) in his welcome address said the CMO was Inaugurated in 1982 by the then Archbishop of Onitsha, His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze.Â
“The Organization was formed out of the laity in the church for married catholic men only. The Archbishop of Onitsha agreed to honour some deserving members of the organization and some of the friends of the church for their contribution to the growth of the church. We should all be greatful to our Archbishop who has been working tirelessly to upgrade the image of Onitsha by citing a university here. This university will automatically upgrade Onitsha to a cosmopolitan city.
All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Anambra North Senatoral District Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) while addressing CMO members outlined the importance of men in family, church and society at large.
Mrs Obiano thanked CMO Onitsha Archdiocese for finding her worthy of the award been given to her. Osodieme called on CMO members to vote her into office next 2023 general election, stating that she is in this race to help humanity. She assured them that if voted into office, she will not let them down.
