Clean water is indispensable in any society. It’s noteworthy that before now the people of ward four Nimo face daily crisis in a bid to get safe water for socio-economic purposes . It is in the news that countless number of people have died in Africa due to unavailability of clean water, preventable diseases like the endemic cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid fever e.t.c have ravaged many, a situation that perturbs the minds of Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua.
On the 6th of July 2024, The people of Ward Two Nimo trooped out en-mass with uncommon enthusiasm, exhilaration and praises as APGA Anambra Central Vice Chairman, Chief Nduka Okoye commissioned a water borehole pumping system built by Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua.
In his speech, The Deputy Majority Leader of Anambra State House Of Assembly and Member Representing Njikoka Two Constituency, Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua asserted that the water borehole system was commissioned to serve the basic water needs of the people and forestall the possible breakout of water related diseases and also bring water to the doorstep of people living at the grassroots for their well-being. He opined that he would continue to be dedicated to his primary duties of enactment of laws, efficient representation and vibrant oversight and would never derelict from his constitutional duties as the mandate he wields was sacred and people-driven . He vowed to ensure that under his watch, Umuowelle’s interests and aspirations were protected. Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua noted that he would not stop at provision of scholarships to indigent students, employment of teachers and nurses etc but would also restore the lost confidence and trust in political leadership by being not just accountable but also creative and assiduous in nudging the overall advancement of Njikoka Two Constituency.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Hon. Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba disclosed that it was amazing and largely unprecedented that under one year in office, Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua has saturated Umuowelle with four signature projects that resonate with the people, he swiftly called on the people of Nimo and Njikoka in general to appreciate Hon. Dr. Jude Akpu by giving him overwhelming support now and henceforth as he had shown zeal for consolidation of his position and his people would never disappoint him . He equally commended the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency ,Prof Charles Soludo for his innumerable achievements in the state and promised to consciously stimulate preponderance of votes from Njikoka for his coming victory in the forthcoming guber-election.
Also speaking, Chief Nduka Okoye who officially commissioned the water borehole system noted that His Excellency, Prof Charles Soludo has brought dividends of democracy to the remote villages of Anambra State and today testimonies of his developmental strides in infrastructure and human development were so loud and audible to the deaf . He enjoined the people of Njikoka Two Constituency to continue to support Hon Dr Jude Akpua as he is sensitive and people-oriented leader who is best described as “Hon Project ”
In their reactions, The President General of Nimo Development Union Mr. Dan Anikpee, The representative of Owelle Nimo, His Royal Majestic Igwe Maximus Oliobi, Chief Tom Jones Abelu, Chairman of Ifite-Ani Development Union , Barr. John Ikemefuna Iguh , Chief Ezeamii Chimezie Reginald, Rev Fr Amakeze, Ichie Obinna Ezeamii and host of others, extolled the sterling performance of Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua especially for his compassion of purpose, dogged sense of responsibility, unwavering dedication to the demand of his office and his vocality in the parliament, all for the sole aim of promoting and protecting the concerns of Njikoka Two Constituency. They all eulogized him for fulfilling his campaign promise and assured him of optimal solidarity in his representation.

Highlight of the occasion were commissioning of the project by APGA Anambra Central Vice Chairman, Chief Nduka Okoye, induction of Labour Party (LP) Stalwart, Chief Joseph Onwughalu into APGA party and presentation of big goat to Hon. Dr. Jude Akpua in appreciation for his magnificence in the legislature.
