Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University, COOU, has banned students from bringing in their cars into the campus.
This was made known in a memorandum released by the Registrar of the varsity, along with the prohibition of indecent dressing.
The memo titled Prohibition of Indecent Dressing in the University, highlighting in point three that “No student is allowed to come into our University with car.”
The full statements reads: “The Vice Chancellor has observed, with dismay, the spate of indecent dressing with the attendant adverse effect in the University and consequently directed as follow:
- Indecent dressing is prohibited in the University with immediate effect.
- No female student should come into our University with mini skirt, show belly, show breast, show chest shirts among male students are equally prohibited.
- No student is allowed to come into our University with car.
- The above prohibitions are with immediate effect and any student who contravenes any of the directives on the above listed socially abhorred behaviors will be suspended from the University for one semester.”
The Registrar urges the Security Personnel and the staff Student Affairs Unit “to enforce the above directives by the Vice Chancellor”.
