Court Orders Dual DNA Tests to Settle Late Mohbad’s Son’s Paternity

A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has directed that two DNA tests be carried out to determine the paternity of the child, Liam Aloba, of the late singer Mohbad.

Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga granted the request by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, who described lingering doubts about Liam’s paternity and emphasized the necessity of clarity for the child’s welfare and future maintenance.

The court mandated that one DNA test be conducted in an accredited facility within Nigeria and another abroad. Both parents or their representatives must be present during the sample collection. The matter was adjourned to November 11, 2025 for further proceedings.

Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, did not oppose the application, allowing the court to approve the order without resistance.
