CP Itam Commend Soludo, Anambra Lawmaker On Signing Of Anti-Cultism, And Anti-Touting Law

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command CP Nnaghe Obono Itam commends the State Government and House of Assembly members, as Governor Chukwuma Soludo signed into law on a jail term of a minimum of 21 years with no option of fine on any person found culpable of cult-related activities.

The Governor also approved the legal confinement of six months or the option to pay half a million naira on anyone harassing innocent individuals to obtain illegal tolls, illegal scalpers, or any related activities in the State.

The CP noted that these developments shall further reecho the campaign and stand against touting and cultism, especially the Police on the advocacy program; Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, a program targeted to sensitize the youths of the dangers of bad groups, drugs, and other vices.

Itam warns criminal elements in Anambra to repent as the Command shall make sure anyone found culpable will be made to face the full weight of the law. He also urges parents/guardians to
admonish their children/wards in this regard

Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Tuesday June 11, 2024 signed eleven laws passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The bills signed into law are; Anambra State Electoral Law, 2024. Anambra State Touting Prohibition Law, 2024. Secret Cult and Similar Activities Prohibition Law, 2024. Health Facilities and Accreditation Agency Law, 2024.

Others are; Anambra State Peace Building and Conflict Management Agency.
Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (ANSOGPADEC) Law, 2024. Market Safety and Protection Law, 2024. Trafficking in Person Prohibition Law, 2024. Anambra State Private Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery Law, 2024. Law to Amend the Anambra State House of Assembly Service Commission Law 2021 and for other Connected Purposes. and
Anambra State Revenue Administration (Consolidand Harmonization) Law.
