The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the recruitment of candidates into the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres—the junior ranks—will hold on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
The announcement, shared on the NCS’s verified social media platforms on Tuesday, marks the second stage of the service’s recruitment exercise, emphasizing a commitment to transparency and accessibility.
Examination Details and Guidelines
Candidates shortlisted for the CBT have been divided into three batches (A, B, and C). They are required to log in with their National Identification Number (NIN) via the official portal, https://updates.customs.gov.ng, to confirm their assigned batch, date, and time for the examination.
The NCS issued a strong warning regarding adherence to the schedule:
“Strict compliance with the assigned batch and time is mandatory. Failure to adhere may lead to disqualification,” the service stated.
Candidates are allowed to take the online test from any location with reliable internet access. However, strict prohibitions have been put in place to ensure integrity:
Candidates are “strongly advised against the use of calculators, mobile phones, or any other devices” during the examination. Applicants must also avoid multiple log-ins or switching browser windows, as these actions could affect their participation.
The NCS further clarified that this specific CBT is only for applicants in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadres. Candidates who applied for the higher-level Superintendent Cadre will be scheduled for a separate examination stage later.
