Dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has publicly denied the sexual offence allegations he faces in the United Kingdom, saying he remained calm throughout the ordeal because he knew he was innocent.
Speaking in a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan that was shared on Instagram on Sunday, Poco Lee said his main concerns had been for his associates and business interests rather than the accusations themselves.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone,” he said.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he added.
VeryDarkMan expressed support for the dancer and questioned the circumstances of the reports surrounding the case, while noting the backing provided by singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago.
The comments come amid conflicting online reports about the status of the case. Some claimed Poco Lee had been released from custody or that the matter had been resolved, but the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed on Saturday that the case remains active.
“This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026,” the CPS Press Office told Punch Online.
Odinaka faces five sexual offence charges — attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration — linked to his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert in London on August 14. The court has imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant.
Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence, and the charges have yet to be determined.
