Lawyer representing the mother of Davido’s daughter has filed a pre-action notice seeking ₦1 billion in damages over alleged defamation and cyberbullying stemming from a custody dispute.
Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, counsel for Sophia Momodu in the ongoing battle over their 10-year-old child Imade Adeleke, accused Davido — whose real name is David Adeleke — of verbal abuse during a February 12 court hearing at the Lagos State High Court.
The notice, dated February 24, claims Davido refused a court order to apologise for his conduct and later posted online remarks calling Enedah the “worst lawyer ever,” which allegedly sparked harassment and death threats from his fans.
Enedah’s demands include a public retraction of the social media posts on X and Instagram, a formal apology, and assurances against further intimidation by the artist or his supporters.
The suit highlights broader tensions in the custody case, initiated by Davido in 2024 for joint custody and later withdrawn earlier this year, amid claims of inconsistent child support and references to the 2022 drowning death of his son Ifeanyi.
