DOES APC REALLY NEED ANAMBRA STATE

While the familair distraction persisted in APGA, I read somewhere that Mr Basil Ejidike, the APC Chairman of Anambra State, said that the Party has registered over 500,000 members in the State.

Well, abracadabra is a word in the dictionary, and it is there for reasons not too far from the self-conceiting statement attributed to Mr Ejidike. It started with the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun who, in the comfort of his Golden Tulip hotel room, manufactured about 230,000 votes for Senator Andy Uba and declared him the winner of a Primary election conducted only in his errant imagination.

It is not enough bandying figures around. The reality of APC’s existence in Anambra is encapsulated in the reactions of the people whenever these figures are mentioned. And like the people I want to ask,

“from where?”

Unless there are aliens in the State who are APC members that we do not know about, else it is comical to want to activate a rigging mechanism in a State you are not only unpopular in, but also with a disturbing absence in the grassroot.

These unholy desperation to hijack Anambra is unnecessary. So, the whole message about “connecting to the centre” is like an old drab rhyme that would never make a hit song.

Anambra is at peace with the centre and this is exemplified by the appointment of some respected members of APGA into key and sensitive positions by the Federal Government. It is only nice Candidates Square down to deliverables and solicit for the people’s mandate.
