..Reiterates commitment to youth development
Dunukofia Local Government Council Chairman, Mayor Onyemaobi Augustine Nonyelum has reiterated his commitment to youth development while urging youths to join active politics. The statement was disclosed during a strategic meeting with the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) at Ukpo, the LG headquarter.
While stressing that failure of leadership, ethnicity, sectionalism and favouritism as some of the nation’s challenges, Mayor Nonyelum tasked the group to avoid these vices and build a new path for greatness.
Onyemaobi stated that his administration was poised to bring about development through inclusive development for promoting trust in public service by changing the narrative through disruptive ways. He urged Nigerian citizens to abide by the laws and support government’s concerted effort to develop all sectors simultaneously.
The Council boss further urged the group to continue engaging youths and the society on value re-orientation and ensuring follow-up to build better youths in Dunukofia.
In his words, “I urge NYCN Dunukofia chapter to synergize with other youth groups in the local government area to formulate and champion policies that will bring about development and socio-economic growth.”
Earlier, during his speech, the Dunukofia Local Government Chairman of NYCN, Comr. Jude Onwubah extolled Mayor Onyemaobi for his commitment to youth and community development. Comrade Onwubah briefed the youthful LG Chairman about the success and prosperity challenges of the group so far.
Onwubah further implored the working LG Chairman to work with the youth council towards a better and prosperous Dunukofia.
In his vote of thanks, the Secretary of Dunukofia chapter, Comr. Okafor Uzochukwu eulogized the Council boss as an experienced youth leader and thanked him for his immense commitment to youth affairs and the development of Dunukofia Local Government Area.
Also present at the interactive meeting were some of the Local Government executives and town Liaison Officers.
