Ajah, who was addressing journalists in Abakaliki, thanked all members of the Labour Party (L.P.) for their support during his stay in the party. He, however, read the resignation letter he addressed to the Chairman, Amagu Ward, Ishiagu, Ivo L.G.A.
“I write to respectfully inform you of my decision to resign my membership in the Labour Party (LP) effective today.
The decision is informed after due consultations with critical stakeholders, political associates, families, and supporters.
It will serve no meaningful political interest for myself, my political associates, or my supporters to hold further membership in the Labour Party (LP).
“The development will enable me to explore other options that may accommodate my political aspirations, those of my associates, and those of my supporters.
“While thanking all members of the Labour Party (LP) for their support during my stay in the party, I wish you the best of luck in your future political endeavours. Please, Mr. Chairman, kindly accept the assurances of my esteem.”
