Edo State Governor Okpebholo Swears in 21 Commissioners

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo on Tuesday inaugurated 21 new commissioners, officially establishing his State Executive Council, local media reported.

The swearing-in ceremony in Benin City signaled the full formation of the cabinet, following the governor’s recent assumption of office.

In his charge to the new appointees, Governor Okpebholo emphasized the imperative for rapid administrative change and development, stating that the commissioners must work “to prove to the world that a new Edo has risen.”

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s key focus, stressing that his government “remained committed to repositioning Edo State for development.”

In addition to the cabinet members, Governor Okpebholo administered oaths of office to the chairmen and members of several statutory bodies, including the State Bursary and Scholarship Board and the Senior Secondary Education Board. The election of a new governor often leads to significant personnel changes across state parastatals.
