Popular rapper and social crusader, Eedris Abdulkareem, has composed and dedicated a new song in memory of the late Founder and chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi.
The single, titled ‘DOKPESI SUN RE’ (Rest Well), was in appreciation of the enormous contributions of late media mogul to the music industry in Nigeria and Africa.
ANN reports that Dokpesi, a pioneer private radio owner, founded a media conglomerate – DAAR Communications Plc – which is the parent body of AIT, RayPower FM and Faaji FM died at aged 71, on May 29, 2023.
Eedris in a statement posted on his Facebook page by his business associate and singer, Myke Pam, on behalf of Lakreem Entertainment Inc., lauded Dokpesi’s giant stride quota to the growth and development of the creative sector.
The ‘Country Hard’, ‘Mr Lecturer’, and ‘Oko Omoge’ crooner commiserated with the entire Dokpesi family, management and staff of DAAR Communications Plc over the demise of Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, describing his death as painful.
Eedris also eulogised the media icon and frontline philanthropist, describing him as an enigma.
The single, ‘DOKPESI SUN RE’, which was released by Lakreem Entertainment on Tuesday, June 20 2023, is available on online music stores and streaming platforms.
