Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovered 1.233 trillion naira and secured 10,872 convictions between October 2023 and July 2026, the agency said on Thursday.
The figures cover the 34-month period under the chairmanship of Ola Olukoyede and were released in a video posted on the commission’s official X account.
“₦1.233 trillion in recoveries in just 34 months. This is the legacy of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede,” the commission stated.
During the period, the EFCC received 49,673 petitions, which it described as “the entry point for EFCC action.” From these, 39,615 cases were investigated and 14,476 cases were filed in court, leading to the 10,872 convictions.
The agency said the numbers reflected its work against a range of financial crimes, including advance fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud and economic governance fraud.
“And behind every number is a case investigated, a financial trail uncovered, and public resources recovered to keep pushing the fight against economic and financial crimes forward,” the EFCC added.
It concluded the update by stating: “The work continues.”
