Eid-El-Kabir: Soludo, Udeze Calls For Prayers, Peace And Progress

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has conveyed his earnest felicitations to the entire Muslim Ummah in Anambra State and all over Nigeria on the festive occasion of Eid el Kabir.

In his goodwill message, Governor Soludo reflected that Sallah festival universally holds profound significance, reminding us of the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, and untiring  commitment to divine will and the common good of humanity.

Governor Soludo urged all Muslim faithful to leverage the spiritual essence of this period to offer prayers for enduring peace, unity, and accelerated progress in our nation.

He emphasized the importance of sharing feasts, extending acts of charity, and fostering mutual tolerance and peaceful coexistence among all citizens, irrespective of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents of Anambra State, and to creating an environment where every citizen can celebrate in peace in this season and beyond.

In a statement signed by Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Soludo warmly wishes all Muslims happy Barka da Sallah celebrations, praying that the blessings of this season fill everyone’s homes with bliss, peace, and prosperity.

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has expressed optimism that with unity, prayers and collective commitment to nation building, Nigeria would continue to make progress in peace, security and sustainable development.

In his goodwill message to Muslims as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, Rt. Hon. Udeze encouraged them to renew the practice of Almsgiving, particularly to the poor and other vulnerable members of the society, as one of the fundamental principles of Islam.

The Speaker called on Nigerians irrespective of their religious inclinations to remain selfless and dedicate their lives, time and resources to the service of God and humanity, adding that Muslims and Christians should work concertedly towards the peaceful coexistence.

Rt. Hon. Udeze requested special prayers from the Muslims during this Eid-el-Kabir celebration for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections, which he said, will determine the sustainability, prosperity and future of the country.

He enjoined the Muslim Community in the State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in appreciation of the enabling environment he has provided for them to operate, while wishing them a fruitful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
