The newly elected Ekwulobia Town Union government in Aguata local government area of Anambra is partnering with the Independent Electoral Committee to share more than Three Thousand (3000) unclaimed Permanent Voters Cards(PVCS) in their community.
The President General of Ekwulobia Town Union, Nze Azubuike Ezechukwu has designated four collection centres in Ekwulobia Ward 1 and 2 for owners of the PVCS to come forward and claim them.
The exercise started Thursday, January 26 at Obi Umuchi in Umuchi village, Umuchiana Hall in Umuchiana village,Ezeiloegbunem Square in Ula village and Eziagulu village Hall in Eziagulu village.
While Obi-Umuchi and Umuchiana Hall are in Ekwulobia Ward 1, Ezeiloegbunem Square and Eziagulu village Hall are in Ekwulobia Ward 2.
Speaking on the development,the PG of Ekwulobia,Nze Azubuike Ezechukwu urged the citizens and residents of Ekwulobia Urban town to exploit this golden and last opportunity to collect their permanent voters card.
He thanked the Independent Electoral Commission personnel at the Aguata Office for the level of professionalism they put in handling the issue of the permanent voters card.
He however appealed to well meaning individuals in Ekwulobia town to come to their assistance as the job of providing the voters cards to the door steps of the owners require much logistics.
Meanwhile,a good spirited Lagos based business man,Chief Lawrence Ezenwa (Chinazaoku) has donated the sum of #40,000 to support the efforts of the town union government of Ekwulobia.The PG,Nze Azubuike Ezechukwu confirmed the donation to our reporters last night and enjoined other philanthropists in the town to emulate Chief Ezenwa.
ANN gathered that Ekwulobia town has the highest number of registered voters in the entire Aguata local government area.
In the last governorship election,it had 27000 thousand voters in the voter register and that may have gone above 30,000 now.
