Brentford defeated Chelsea 3-0 in the Premier League on Friday, with second-half goals from Jaidon Anthony, Igor Thiago and Fábio Carvalho securing a comprehensive win at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Anthony opened the scoring in the 61st minute, heading home from close range after a corner delivered by Mikkel Damsgaard and a header across goal by Jannik Schuster.
Thiago doubled the lead in the 83rd minute, converting from the centre of the box following a rapid counter-attack involving Kevin Schade.
Carvalho completed the scoring in the fourth minute of stoppage time, finishing a right-footed shot from the right side of the six-yard box into the top corner.
The first half ended goalless, with both sides creating limited clear chances. Chelsea, who finished with 59 percent possession, were unable to break down a solid Brentford defence after the interval.
The result left Brentford with a strong early-season performance against their west London rivals.
