EPL: Mount, Sesko Fire United Past Sunderland; Kudus Ends Leeds’ Home Run

Manchester United secured a 2-0 home win over Sunderland, while Tottenham stunned Leeds by ending their 23-match unbeaten home run, powered by Mohammed Kudus.

At Old Trafford, Mason Mount opened the scoring early for United, and Benjamin Sesko doubled the lead in the 31st minute. A penalty awarded to Sunderland was overturned by VAR, preventing them from mounting a comeback. United dominated possession and could’ve added more goals.

Over in Yorkshire, Leeds’ long-standing fortress was dismantled. Mohammed Kudus assisted Mathys Tel’s opener in the 23rd minute, then struck the winner himself in the second half to seal a 2-1 Spurs win. Noah Okafor had briefly leveled for Leeds.

The results gave Tottenham a boost up the table (to second place with 14 points) and handed United relief amid growing scrutiny over their form. At Leeds, the defeat ended the club’s longest-ever unbeaten run at Elland Road.
