Mr. Francis Ezenwa has been inaugurated as the ninth Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Awka District Society.
Ezenwa, a graduate of Accounting from the university of Benin was elected alongside 13 other executive members. He succeeded Mr. Emmanuel Muodozie at the investiture ceremony and fundraiser for district bus of N20 million held in Awka at the weekend.
In his inaugural speech, Ezenwa promised to prioritise welfare and capacity enhancement of members.
He said the body in his leadership would entrench the culture of accounting by sponsoring prizes for students who did well in basic financial accounting in select schools in the state
The new chairman expressed hope that with the support of members, he will take the association to great heights including the purchase of district bus.
Chairman of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr Greg Ezeilo, delivered the investiture entitled “Accountants In The New World Order: Using Professional Skills To Save The World”.
In his welcome remark, Chairman of the occasion, Mr Okechukwu Obi expressed happiness that the association had continued to thrive over the years.
Obi prayed that the new chairman will
lead the district better and left it better than he met it at the end of his one tenure.

dignitaries from different walks of life including HRH Igwe Dr Stephen Ezenwugo, the traditional ruler of Uga in Aguata Local Government Area graced the event.
