FA Close to Scrapping Replays of Round Three, Four

There may be major changes in the FA Cup which will affect teams participating in the competition.

According to the BBC, the Football Association are close to scrapping the replays of round three and round four in its entirety.

This would mean that the matches that end in a draw at the end of 90 minutes will go to extra time and potentially penalty shootouts.

The move is set to negatively impact lower league clubs as they always look towards hosting replays as a method to generate revenues.

The report also claimed the two-legged Carabao Cup semi-finals would also be scrapped in favour of the single-leg match-up
