Fashola to Deliver LASU’s 27th Convocation Lecture As 153 Bag First Class

Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, yesterday, said that 153 students would be graduating with First Class at its 27th convocation.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, disclosed this during a media briefing as part of the activities for the convocation ceremony of the institution scheduled to hold between May 30 and June 6, 2024. The university will be graduating 8,670 students across different disciplines.

Olatunji-Bello, however, disclosed that former Governor of Lagos State and immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, would deliver the convocation lecture titled, “Embracing the Future: Navigating the Intersection of Technology and Humanity,” on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Buba Marwa Auditorium.

She also said that a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC). Prof. Peter Okebukola, would chair the lecture while two academics would be conferred honorary doctorate degrees.

They are Prof. Martins AghenumaAnetekhai as emeritus professor and Prof. Amidu Olalekan Sanni as distinguished professor.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Doyin Investment Limited, Dr Samuel Adedoyin, who recently donated a one-storey ICT Building to the institution, will receive Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Commerce, Industry and National Development) Honoris Causa, while TajudeenOlusi who will be conferred with Honorary Doctor of Literature (History, Education and Community Development), Honoris Causa.
