Federal Poly Oko Partners UNIZIK In Elevating Quality Education

Federal Polytechnic Oko has taken a bold step towards forging a strategic academic alliance with Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, with the aim of elevating the quality of education, fostering human capital development, and driving national progress.

The proposal was presented recently when the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, led the institution’s management on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Awuzie emphasized that the proposed partnership aligns with the shared vision of both institutions to expand academic opportunities and enhance professional capacity building.

Dr. Awuzie outlined key areas for collaboration, which include the establishment of a Business School at Federal Polytechnic Oko, a B.Sc affiliation programme with UNIZIK, the introduction of one-year Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes, and an HND-to-BSc conversion pathway.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the initiative, describing it as a positive step toward deepening inter-institutional cooperation.

Anyaehie invited the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Angela Ufele, and the Director of the UNIZIK Business School, Prof. P. V. C. Okoye, to present the university’s requirements for such affiliations. He assured the Polytechnic that once the outlined standards are met, the requests would receive prompt consideration and approval.

The Vice-Chancellor further pledged UNIZIK’s support for the partnership, including the deployment of professors to provide academic supervision where necessary, to ensure the successful implementation of the proposed programmes.

Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
the proposed collaboration is expected to broaden academic pathways for students of Federal Polytechnic Oko and strengthen institutional capacity through shared resources and expertise.
