Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on well-wishers to support the completion of the National Library as a birthday tribute, foregoing traditional gifts and celebrations.
In a heartfelt video message shared Monday, ahead of her 65th birthday on September 21—which this year falls on a Sunday—Tinubu said she will dedicate the milestone quietly to God and a meaningful national cause rather than host festivities.
“If you were planning to send me cookies, cards, flowers, or newspaper greetings, please direct those resources to the National Library completion fund instead,” she said.
The initiative is being coordinated through the “Oluremi at 65 Education Fund” via the Federal Ministry of Education. Contributions can be made through Zenith Bank account number 1310314977. Her spokesperson, Bukola Kukoyi, urged the public to disregard any fake donation platforms using her name.
