Forum of Anambra Village Chairmen Seeks Partnership with Soludo

Awka – Grassroot development group under the aegis of Forum of Anambra Village Chairmen seeks partnership with the state government for socio-economic growth.

Addressing the gathering, Convener of the Forum of Anambra State Village Chairmen, Sir Osita Kingsley Ozalagba, KSJI stated: “We are a voluntary organization that is positioned to complement the developmental efforts of our communities and Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

” It is imperative that we have a strategic meeting with Mr Governor and relevant stakeholders to synergize and share effective roadmap to actualize both state government and community development agenda to achieving a liveable and prosperous Anambra.

Ozalagba further stated that going forward, the forum is expecting endorsements from different sectors with unwavering support to attain the objectives of the group.

” Today we are here with some selected village Chairmen across the three Senatorial zones to interact and synergize ideas towards attaining our shared goals given that it’s a forum ndị Anambra will be proud to support,” Ozalagba concluded.

Speaking, the National Legal Advisor, Barr Chukwudi Inyejekwe stated that the objective of the group is to partner with President Generals, state government and other stakeholders to foster peace, ensuring public participation and development to the grassroot.

Onyejekwe revealed that the forum will continue working with the PGs without any rancour adding that government should combat insecurity by working directly with village leaders to ensure socio-economic growth. “Security is our number one agenda, the lawyer asserted.

While speaking to the press, elated Chairman Ugwunano village, Umunze, Honourable Nnaka Hyginus commended the platform noting that he is upbeat there will be accelerated positive results.

“Nevertheless, all the villages in Umunze have their own vigilante groups which are being funded by the community, then the Anambra State Government is also assisting the town union in funding the vigilante at town level. Then all the security agencies like the Police, Civil defence and the rest collaborate with the vigilante group at all levels to come whenever there’s a security challenge. All of them organize together and face the challenges squarely, that is why some of us are not affected.

“We are trying as much as possible with the support of the state government to curb insecurity the way we can”.
