Ebuka Okafor Foundation in continuing with its tradition of empowering widows, has undertaken to empower three thousand (3,000) widows.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the event took place at its founder’s compound, Ebenesi village, Nnobi in Idemili South Council Area, Anambra State.
Addressing the people, the Co-ordinator Ebuka Okafor Foundation, Mrs Blessing Nweke enumerated various projects of the foundation in the last 12 years including zero tolerance to hunger, healthcare service delivery for all, education for the indigent, and enlightenment programmes for the widows.
Okafor expressed joy and gratitude to God for his provision towards sustaining the foundation, calling on other affluents members of the society to touch lives.
The event which commenced with a thanksgiving service at All Saints Anglican Church, Awuda Nnobi also featured free medical outreach and distribution of gift items to the people.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabo applauded Chief Ebuka Okafor for his magnanimity and consistency in giving back to the society yearly, calling for the replication of this gesture in other parts of the state.
Some of the widows prayed God to bless Chief Okafor for his magnanimity.
