Hope in Foot Foundation in partnership with Njikoka Local Government Area, has organised ‘Football Talent Show 2026’
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the event was held at the Njikoka local government secretariat, Abagana, at the weekend.
In his remark, the local government Chairman of Njikoka, Bar. Chinedu Ononiba emphasized the importance of combining sports and education as tools for youth development.
In his speech, Mr. Emeka Golden, the representative of (Hope in Foot Foundation) Switzerland, thanked the mayor of Njikoka for the collaboration and urged the pupils to make their studies a priority.
Mr. Golden maintained that the programme was designed to discover and nurture young football talents between the ages of 10 and 14 years, with opportunities for educational scholarships.
He gave a detailed briefing on the objectives, rules, and expectations of the competition and also, on behalf of the foundation, shared sports wear to the participants.
During the event, participants showcased their football abilities through screening matches and individual skill assessments, supervised by coaches and evaluators.
After final assessment rounds and intensive evaluation by coaches and scouts who focused on technical skills, teamwork, discipline, and overall performance, outstanding talents were announced, with highlights on those selected for educational scholarship opportunities.
The Football Talent Show 2026 was widely applauded as a successful initiative that aligns with its theme, “Sports & Education — Building the Future Through Football,” and reflects a strong commitment to grassroots talent development and youth empowerment within Njikoka Local Government Area.

The discovered talents received prizes and recognition.
