Foundation Organizes Free Medical Outreach For Igbariam Community

 

…enrolls 30 beneficiaries into the State Health Insurance Scheme

 

Igbariam Youth Development Foundation, at the weekend, organized free medical outreach for the people of the community

The event featured health enlightenment session, free medical consultation and medication, physical and basic body examination, free enrollment of thirty beneficiaries into the State Health Insurance Scheme.

The Director of Education and Research of the Foundation, Mr. Amakom Okoye, in his remark, said the medical intervention was to give the people easy access to quality health services to reduce mortality and improve life expectancy.

Okoye revealed that the Foundation is equally working towards sustaining the outreach every three months to give more people the opportunity to benefit, and will also intervene in other areas, including scholarship scheme for indigent pupils and students, providing borehole water scheme, road rehabilitation, improved security, upgrading of market facilities and restoring holistic changed in the community by carrying everybody along.

cautioned against consumption of raw salt, red meat and excess sugar, and stressed the need for regular health checks and healthy lifestyle

Also speaking, Mr Izuchukwu Ogbaji; from the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, explained that enrollment into the scheme will enabled beneficiaries access quality health services without financial burden.

In their separate reactions, the Youth Chairman, Mr Stanley Nnaemeka, and some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs Blessing Nwakacha, Mrs Joy Okafor and Reverend Victor Okafor assured Mr Okoye that the community will support his aspirations and continue to pray for his success.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the outreach was approved by the Anambra state Ministry of Health, and supported by Igbariam Progressive Union, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency and Nigeria Red Cross Society.
