Nigerian Streamer Carter Efe has ignited a heated social media debate after revealing he has been single for more than a year and publicly criticising his baby mama, prompting a rare response from her and drawing in other influencers.
In a series of emotional posts this week, the popular skit-maker and streamer said he had ended his relationship with Emmanuella, accusing the partnership of damaging his mental health, creativity and finances. “I’ve been single for over 1 year now… God is good!!!” he wrote, adding that during the relationship he struggled “to think or shoot content” and went “months without seeing my kid.”
Efe’s remarks quickly drew attention — not all positive — and triggered a rebuttal from Emmanuella herself.
In a video posted to her Instagram account, she said she was forced to speak publicly after the comments and disputed his claim about their status. “Although we are not officially together, we were still intimate recently… three days before his post,” she said, adding she never anticipated having to address the situation publicly.
“I was always alone at the hospital”
She further revealed that she usually went to the hospital alone, without any support, because she did not want anyone to know what she was going through.
According to her, one of the nurses once questioned why she always came alone, but she could not bring herself to explain the situation. She said she endured everything in silence because she was trying to protect his image and her own dignity.
She also pushed back on allegations linked to her personal ambitions, saying she was unfairly portrayed after studying medical anatomy and facing commentary about her career choices. “I’m very happy you’re coming out to say all this about me… this is all I needed to come out and say my truth,” she said.
“I was being used for content”
She added that she later realised she was only being used for content, stating that while she was genuine in the relationship, his behaviour behind the scenes was “scary”.
“Everything I ever posted or did was from my heart. Making content with your man is not a crime, but the way he treats me afterwards is scary,” she said.
She also cleared the air on the recent livestream drama, insisting that she was not the person who called Carter Efe during his live session, contrary to what many people assumed online.
As of the time of this report, Carter Efe has not publicly responded to these fresh allegations.
The online dispute has spilled into broader social media conversation, with other influencers wading in. One, known as Verydarkman, shared a past video purportedly showing the alleged emotional toll on Efe’s family, repeating accusations from earlier commentary that the streamer had been unkind to his partner — claims that have not been independently verified.
