FRSC Inaugurates 130 Special Marshals In Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, on Friday, March 13th 2026 inaugurated one hundred and thirty (130) Special Marshals in Awka.

Anambra Sector Commander, CC Bridget Asekhauno in his remark, urged the new Special Marshals to assist in carrying out road auditing and researches into causes of traffic crashes in the state.

CC Asekhauno said the auditing and researches would assist the Anambra State Command in mitigating crashes in the state.

The FRSC boss described the Special Marshals as critical partner of the corps, stating that their visible contributions had further boosted activities of the corps especially in area of traffic control, clearing obstruction, rescue operations and public enlightenment, particularly in schools.

Congratulating the new intakes, CC Asekhauno noted that it was a privilege for the Special Marshals to be part of the Corps, urging them to ensure their training reflected on their duties.

In his address, Special Marshals Anambra State Cordinator, Uzodimma Michael Ogbusa said the inauguration is
a significant step in strengthening road safety and traffic management.

Ogbusa commended the new Special Marshals for their willingness to volunteer their time and energy to serve their community.

“As you take on this role, you become key partners in ensuring safer roads and promoting responsible driving habits. As you step into this important role, remember that your actions reflect not only on you but on the entire community.

” Be vigilante, patient and respectful at all times, especially when dealing with road users. Always prioritize safty, follow due process and avoid taking laws into your hands. Your presence should build trust and order, not fear or tension.

“Stay alert, work as a team and report any challenge to your supervisors”. Ogbusa advised.

In their separate speeches, Special Marshals Zonal Cordinator, Idolo Kennedy (represented) and Former Anambra State Cordinator, Ben Osaka SAN, urged the new intake to be good ambassadors, describing the movement as a ministry and a voluntary service to humanity.

Some of the newly inaugurated Special Marshals who spoke to Angel Network News (ANN) promised to contribute their quota, including time and resources in assisting the FRSC operations. They pledged to strengthens road safety and traffic management in Anambra state.
