The Zonal Commanding Officer, RS5 Headquarters, Benin, Assistant Corps Marshal Nkechi Orakwue has paid a familiarization visit to Anambra Command led by Adeoye Irelewuyi.
ACM Orakwue in her speech urged officers to recommit themselves to their duty, shun “patrol misconducts”, as well as safeguard their lives and jobs jealously by sticking to laid down rules guiding their operations.
The Zonal Commander called for all hands to be on deck in ensuring safety of all forms of road users, stating that the Corps Marshal has zero tolerance for road crashes.
She maintained that safety on roads is the responsibility of relevant stakeholders, including the government and the motoring public.
Orakwue explained that aggressive and consistent public enlightenment on proper use of the highways has been helpful in educating the public on the need for safety on roads.
While commending successive Anambra Governments for various supports to the State Sector Command of the FRSC since inception in 1993, the Zonal Commander called for more logistics support in terms of operational vehicles to ensure that FRSC officials are visible on the roads; thereby ensuring prompt response to emergencies.
