FRSC’s Special Marshals Enlighten Motorists On Road Signs In Awka

The Special Marshals in Awka units, an arm of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Anambra State have enlightened the drivers of Star Sunny Motors Park at Arroma Junction, Awka, and road users on the essence of adhering to signs while driving.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Assistant Route Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Secor Command, Mr Charles Iyiegbuniwe while addressing the drivers and other road users who participated in the programme, explained that the essence of the enlightenment campaign was to make road users familiar with road signs and warnings in order to prevent crashes on the roads.

Mr Iyiegbuniwe urged motorists to always display good road attitude and other safety measures any time they are on the road to forestall accidents and make the roads safe for all.

A member of the team Mr. Gab Okpalaeze taught the drivers and other road users who took part in the exercise the meaning of road signs and warnings, including situations where they are applicable, while some of them who interpreted the meaning of road signs displayed during the programme were rewarded with cash.

On his part, another member of the team, Mr Ikem Asika also sensitised the participants on the need to be road safety conscious and reminded them of the penalties stipulated by law for road safety defaulters

In a vote of thanks, the Manager of the transport company, Mr Gideon Oguike who described the exercise as very educative and interactive noted that they have learnt more about road signs and commended the Special Marshals for the humanitarian service they rendered to them, assuring that they will put all they learnt into practice.
