Grammy Awards: Nigerians Who Got Nominated, Airing Time

Ahead of the 66th Grammy Awards slated for today, February 4, here are some Nigerians who got nominated for the golden gramophone awards.

The event, which is scheduled to be held at the Cryptodotcom Arena in Los Angeles, United States, will be hosted by South African comedian and media personality, Trevor Noah for the fourth time in a row.

It would be aired on the American commercial broadcast television, CBS and would be broadcast Live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles at 03:30PM, 10:30 PM Nigerian time while the main ceremony would commence at 03:00 AM Nigerian time. It can be streamed live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Some Nigerian artistes nominated for this year’s Grammys awards includes Asake, who was nominated for in the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for his song; ‘Amapiano’, Tems got nominated in the ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media’ category for her role in Blank Panther soundtrack, ‘Lift Me Up’, a song by Rihanna and lastly, Ayra Starr in the ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for her hit single; Rush.

Still nominated is Burna Boy, who got nominated in four categories including ‘Best Melodic Rap’, ‘’Best Global Music Album’, ‘Best Global Music Performance’ and ‘Best African Music Performance’. Burna Boy will also become the first African artist to perform at the main Grammy Awards event.

For his first nomination award, Davido was nominated in three categories including ‘Best Global Album’ for album, ‘Timeless’, ‘Best African Performance’ for his song ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’ for song ‘Feel’.
