Gunmen Kidnap 6 Pupils From Doma

Gunmen yesterday kidnapped no fewer than six pupils from the Local Government Education Authority Primary School (LGEA) Alwaza, in Doma, the headquarters of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

ANN learnt the gunmen who invaded the school premises on Friday morning, abducted the primary school children to yet-to-be known destination.

A source in the community who didn’t want his name to be mentioned informed our correspondent that the incident occurred at 7am when other pupils were still arriving for the day’s activities.

Confirming the development, Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 4 Special Forces Command, Doma Barracks, Major Joseph Adekunle Afolashade, said six pupils of Alwaza Primary School in Doma were kidnapped by gunmen, adding the command has intensified effort by deploying its patrol to ensure that all the victims are rescued unhurt.

Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, has debunked claims that six pupils of the LGEA Primary School Alwaza were kidnapped in the school premises.

He explained that those kidnapped by the gunmen were two boys – 7 and 8 years old, who were on their way to school when the sad incident occurred.
