Armed assailants stormed a rural community in Ebonyi State, slaying multiple inhabitants, kidnapping others, and torching homes in a brazen assault that has prompted urgent pleas for intervention from local authorities, witnesses said Thursday.
The raid targeted Okporojo village in the Oso Edda district of Edda local government area, where gunmen unleashed violence, leaving buildings engulfed in flames and residents in terror.
Distraught locals called on the state administration and security forces to act swiftly, amid reports of widespread destruction.
