Haaland Becomes Fastest to 50 UCL Goals as City Beat 10-Man Napoli

Erling Haaland shattered a long-standing record by becoming the quickest player ever to score 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League, achieving the feat in just 49 appearances, as Manchester City defeated a 10-man Napoli side 2-0.

Haaland’s milestone came from a header in the 56th minute, assisted by Phil Foden. That goal broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s previous record of 50 goals in 62 games.

City added a second goal in the 65th minute from Jeremy Doku, who dribbled past defenders before slotting the ball through the legs of Napoli’s goalkeeper. Napoli were down to 10 men after captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo received a straight red card in the 21st minute for a tackle on Haaland.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Napoli defended resolutely, with goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic making several important saves. City dominated possession and attacked frequently throughout the match.
