Hon. Akpua Advice Anambra Journalists On The Need For Objectivity, and Balance In Their Reportage

The Deputy Majority Leader of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Akpua has counselled journalists on the need for objectivity and balance as they discharge their duty.

Hon. Akpua, who is the Member representing Njikoka two Constituency advised while speaking in an interview with reporters after attending the One-Day Training Workshop for Journalists in Awka, being organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Patriots for Soludo.

According to the lawmaker, journalists are the conscience of the society, and agenda setters and NUJ Anambra Council has continued to play its role in informing the public with the right information.

” We trust journalists because they always report the truth. Despite the challenges journalists face, they have continued to stand their ground in practising their profession.

“I’m urging NUJ Anambra Council led by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, to remain focused on their duty as the fourth estate of the realm and also maintain good synergy with Anambra State government”.

The lawmaker described Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as a Governor who is setting a monomental standard in Anambra governance.
